US Engineering League – Terms and Conditions

General Agreements:

Our goal at US Engineering League is to provide the most enjoyable camps and classes for kids, while keeping costs low and as affordable as possible for families. You understand that camps and classes are planned well in advance. As an incentive for enrolling early and helping us plan accordingly, we often offer early bird specials or early registration discounts. To effectively manage our costs and ensure that we staff according to our student ratios, you agree to the following policies regarding cancellations and change requests.

Paid in Full Cancellation Policy:

You understand that by registering for a week of camp, we are reserving a space for your child to attend the camp for the specific week purchased. Cancellation requests received more than 14 days in advance of the camp start date will be refunded in full, less a $50.00 cancellation fee or 15% of total cost of camp before promotions. For cancellation requests received within two weeks of the start date your camp, the total amount refunded will include a 25% cancellation fee on total cost of camp before promotions. If you need to make changes within the 2-week period, a $25 fee applies. Acceptable changes include moving the camp to another week of the same value, at the same location purchased. This option is based on camp availability and no guarantees are made that the request can be accommodated. Refunds are not granted when cancelling less than seven days from the start of camp. If you need to make changes within 7 days from the start of camp a $50 change fee applies.

Refunds are not granted to students who are dismissed from the program for disciplinary reasons.

Low Enrollment Policy

Minimum camp size is 4 students; we reserve the right to cancel a class with enrollment below this threshold. Students who are enrolled in a camp that is cancelled due to low enrollment will be offered an alternate camp or a full refund and parents will be notified at least five days before the camp starts.

Waitlist Policy

If a camp is filled, our registration system offers a waitlist option. We recommend placing students on the waitlist; when space opens up we will contact them on a first come first serve basis.

Summer Camp Payment Plan Agreement: You understand that by registering for weeks of camp, under a payment plan we are reserving a spaces for your child to attend the camp for the specific weeks purchased. Cancellation of any weeks purchased under the payment plan consideration will result in a 25% cancellation fee for each week cancelled.

Parental Waiver, Release of Liability, and Photo Consent:

Please read the following waivers and agreements carefully. They include release of liability and waiver of legal rights, and deprive you of the ability to sue certain parties. By signing, you acknowledge that you have both read and understood all text presented to you as part of the registration process.

I, the undersigned, as the parent or legal guardian of the child named below, do hereby give my full consent and approval for my child/participant who is enrolled under my care, custody and control to participate in classes offered with EBK & Company LLC, dba USEL. I understand and accept that all references to "US Engineering League or USEL" and this entire agreement is applicable..

I agree that in consideration for the right to allow my child to participate as a student of USEL and or Engineering For Kids programs and in consideration for permission to participate in classes:

On behalf of my child and myself, I do voluntarily elect to accept and solely assume all risks of injury incurred or suffered by my child while participating in programs with USEL or Engineering For Kids programs.

I hereby certify that my child is fully capable of participating in class at USEL and that my child is healthy and possesses no characteristics that would restrict full participation in these classes, except as made known to US Engineering League and its affiliates.

I grant and authorize US Engineering League, its representatives and employees the right to take, edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, distribute, and make use of any and all photographs or videos taken of me and my property in connection with the above-identified subject to be used in and/or for legally promotional materials including but not limited to, newsletters, flyers, posters, brochures, advertisements, fundraising letters, annual reports, press kits and submissions to journalists, websites, social networking sites and other print and digital communications, without payment or any other consideration. This authorization extends to all languages, media, formats and markets now known or hereafter devised. This authorization shall continue indefinitely, unless I otherwise revoke said authorization in writing. I understand and agree that these materials shall become the property of USEL and will not be returned.

I hereby hold harmless, and release US Engineering League, EBK and Company LLC, Engineering For Kids and the facilities that host our programs from all liability, petitions, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons may make while acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate.

I acknowledge (a) that I have read (or have had read to me) each and every one of the provisions in this waiver, release of liability and indemnification agreement, (b) that I understand each of the provisions in this agreement and (c) that I agree to abide by them.

Medical Emergencies:

I agree to inform USEL within 24 hours if my child or any member of the household develops a reportable communicable disease (immediate notification required if the disease is life threatening). The USEL staff shall notify parent/guardians whenever their child becomes ill and the parent/guardian will arrange to have the child picked up as soon as possible. In the event I cannot be reached in an emergency, I hereby give permission to the USEL staff to seek medical treatment at the nearest medical facility. I understand that I am responsible for the medical expenses incurred by my child and that USEL advises that I carry health insurance for my child.

Transportation Policy:

Parents understand that to comply with the sign in/out procedures, the parent will come into the Program to drop off and pick up child. USEL shall not release a child to any person without parent's consent. USEL will assess a late pick up fee of $1.00 per minute after the end of camp/class, beginning after the first 10 minutes. USEL reserves the right to require identification of any person picking up your child. In the event that persons are designated NOT eligible to pick up a child, the parent agrees to provide USEL custodial paperwork. USEL will contact persons listed as Emergency Contacts if the child has not been picked up within 30 minutes after camp/class has ended for the day.

Code of Conduct:

Your participant's safety and the enjoyment of our programs is of the utmost important to us. We have adopted the following code of conduct to ensure the best experience possible for all participants enrolled in USEL programs. Please review these expectations with your student

USEL reserves the right to dismiss any individuals if their actions or attitudes are deemed detrimental to the outcomes or overall learning environment of other students, as set forth as set forth in our Code of Conduct, and that there shall be no refunds issued for such dismissal. You agree that you have read through, understand, and agree to USELCode of Conduct. You further agree that you will review the USEL Code of Conduct with your participant(s) that is/are participating in a program run by USEL.

You understand that your participant can be dismissed, without a refund, from a program for the following reasons: drug/alcohol/tobacco use; viewing pornography or any inappropriate material on the Internet; inappropriate language (swearing, using bad words, racial slurs, etc.); physical violence or threats of physical violence against other participants or USEL staff; damage to USEL equipment or property, the equipment and property of the facility that is hosting USEL programs; stealing property of others; inappropriate use of equipment; sexual harassment of other participants or USEL staff; internet hacking; or bullying.

You understand and agree that you are responsible for the repair and replacement of USEL equipment and facilities and those of the host facility that is running the Engineering for Kids program due to any failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct policy by your participants.

If possession of illegal substances or weapons is suspected, participant(s) will be subject to search and seizure. If possession of illegal substances or weapons is found, participant(s) will be dismissed from the program immediately.

Participant (and therefore parent/guardian) is responsible for any personal items brought to and loaned. Participant promises to respect all USEL staff members and other participants while treating the facilities and equipment with great care. USEL provides all necessary equipment and supplies needed for your participant to participate in USEL programs. We do not require participants to bring any devices to USEL. However, we understand that parents may want to communicate with their students via cell phone. Should the participant bring a personal device to the program, please note:

• USEL and its host facility partners are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen equipment—participant and/or parent/guardian assume all risk.

• Appropriate use of personal devices are allowed during breaks and lunch periods. Personal devices may not be used during instructional class times—unless they are approved by the teacher.

• We recommend that personal devices be stored in a backpack. Cell/smart phones can be kept on hand but must be in silent mode during instructional times.

• Accessing the Internet via a local Wi-Fi hotspot at the program location is the sole responsibility of the participant. Participant and parent/guardian must comply with all providers’ terms & conditions, and assume all financial risk.

•Viewing inappropriate content (including sexual content, inappropriate violence, racism, bullying, etc.) online may result in immediate dismissal from a program, without a refund.

•Any attempts at computer “hacking” will result in immediate dismissal from a program, without a refund.

Local authorities will be contacted when warranted.

Parent/guardian of theparticipant understands that USEL reserves the right to dismiss any participant from the program without any prior warning for violating any of the terms of the USEL Code of Conduct or this agreement. You acknowledge that upon staff observation of your participant at the USEL program, the Director may determine that the program is not a suitable and/or productive environment for your participant. In this case, USEL may dismiss the participant and no refund will be issued. USEL will exhaust every opportunity for an excellent relationship with every participant. However, in some rare cases, USEL may not be a compatible environment for every participant.

I have read the above information and accept the terms.
