Learn how to draw plants from an aesthetic and botanical perspective while improving your observation and artistic skills. This 3-session course is ideal for anyone wishing to approach botanical drawing from a beginner level in the comfort of their own home. Participants will be given step-by-step instructions on how to progress through botanical drawing projects using graphite pencils. Instructor Katharine Dickinson will guide participants through contour and gesture drawing exercises, followed by longer studies using line and tonal drawing techniques. Online education techniques include presentations, live front view, and overhead demonstrations.

Recordings of classes will be available for each week.

For this class, participants should have the following materials at home:

• 11x14 multimedia sketchbook
• 2H, HB, and 2B pencils
• Eraser
• A simple watercolour set

This course will take place online and will be recorded. Registered participants will have access to recordings for a limited time. Pre-registration required.
