Description:
Be inspired by winter garden features such as amaryllis, snowberries, poinsettia, holly, and more as we create miniature works of art as greeting cards. Susan Pearson will demonstrate a variety of techniques such as creating patterns, quick and simple impressions, wet on dry and wet into wet, as well as fine detailed realism. Some painting experience is recommended.
Susan suggests that participants have the following materials at home:
Paper - Arches 140lb-300lb. cold press watercolour paper, 9” x 12” or larger. Prepare in advance six 5” x 7” blank art cards.
Watercolour Paints - Holbein brand: Red (Carmine) Yellow (New Gamboge) Blue (Peacock blue). Can add Olive Green, Opera (hot pink), and Payne’s grey.
Detailed Brushes – size 01 for fine detail. A good array of brushes includes sizes 04, 1, 4, and 6.
Mixing Palette - plastic or ceramic white surface
Sketching – 2b mechanical pencil and white eraser
Water – 2 mason jars or 2 yogurt containers
Blow Dryer – nice to have for drying paint layers quickly
This course will take place online, and will be recorded. Registered participants will have access to recordings for a limited time. Pre-registration required.
