Description:
Firekeeper is a classic GOS PD.
We love this one because firemaking connects us with some many parts of the land. To collect a bit of milkweed fluff for our flint and steel - we have to know where it grows, we have to make sure it's healthy for next year! We have to harvest respectfully.
Fire by Friction requires lots from us and encourages us to grow. So we develop patience, listening, co-ordination and fortitude. We have to pay attention to the quality of the wood, we need focus. We must learn to ask for help, and when to dig deep within ourselves. Firekeeper is character development.
Signature Songs, Stories, and Games set the stage for a day fire tending. Lots of trying, failing, and trying again. We'll keep warm with skills demonstrations and challenges with bowdrill, hand-drill, flint & steel, magnifying glasses. Lots of opportunity to tend a little hand-warmer on your own or with new friends.
See you out there!
